But my take-away
from the sad story is that anyone who co-signs a loan should be aware
that a death does not automatically wipe out their obligation for the
loan. They get the option to start paying for it and keep the policy
when they finish their term of service. I wonder if the Father should
have purchased a life insurance policy on his son for just this
